Meizu is gearing up to make waves once again in the smartphone market with its upcoming device, the Meizu Note 16. While at first glance the phone’s design might remind you of the Huawei Mate XT, there’s a deeper story behind its look. According to Meizu China’s General Manager Xiao Bo, the resemblance is purely coincidental. The real inspiration behind the phone’s bold design lies in the intricate patterns of ancient Chinese caisson ceilings—a unique fusion of heritage and modern aesthetics.

The Meizu Note 16 features a large rear camera module, seen in both red and white color variants. Interestingly, despite its sizable housing, the phone only includes two camera lenses. This design choice has sparked debate among fans and tech enthusiasts alike—with many wondering if such a dramatic look was necessary for just a dual-camera setup. However, the inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture gives the phone a unique cultural identity.

The frame has been carefully crafted with right-angled edges and rounded corners, offering both a sleek appearance and enhanced in-hand comfort. Meizu seems to have paid special attention to ergonomics and aesthetics.
