Honor Robot Phone Officially Teased: Honor has dropped a major surprise in the AI-smartphone segment. The company has publicly showcased the first prototypes of its upcoming Robot Phone, confirming that the futuristic device is set to launch next year. The reveal happened at the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, where Honor CEO Li Jian outlined the company’s long-term AI ambitions and shared a closer look at this next-gen handset. Here’s everything you need to know.
Honor Robot Phone: What does it bring?
At the Wuzhen Summit, Li Jian discussed Honor’s progress in AI terminals and officially announced the establishment of the Alpha Lab. He emphasized that AI intelligence will eventually surpass human capabilities, and smartphones—acting as the bridge between the digital and physical worlds—will be the primary carriers of this intelligence.
Earlier this year, Honor introduced its massive Alpha Strategy, a five-year investment plan worth 10 billion USD, aimed at building a world-leading AI terminal ecosystem across three phases. The results are already visible: from AI phones to robot-level smart devices, Honor is pushing both hardware upgrades and intelligent evolution.
The newly launched Honor Magic8 series has already used AI to overhaul the entire software-hardware experience, enabling YOYO intelligent agent automation across 3,000+ scenarios. But the biggest leap is arriving next year: the Honor Robot Phone, which integrates AI computing, embodied intelligence, and high-definition camera modules to create a “warm, intelligent life form.”

Prototype Looks: Foldable Rear Gimbal System
Honor’s Robot Phone introduces a design concept never seen before on a mainstream smartphone.
According to the showcased prototype:
- The device features an ultra-clear foldable robotic gimbal on the back
- When not in use, the gimbal retracts neatly into the rear camera housing
- When activated, it extends outward to perform robotic movements and high-grade intelligent visual tasks
A short GIF preview displaying this movement has already created buzz online, with users calling it one of the most futuristic phone designs of the year.
