vivo’s S50 is slowly taking shape, and today’s leak gives us our best look yet at the design of the upcoming lineup. The phones will be available in four finishes—Confession, Inspiration Purple, Serenity Blue, and Deep Space Black—each aimed at giving the device a distinct visual identity.

While the company is pushing a bolder design language on the S50 Pro mini, the standard S50 keeps things familiar with a classic upper-left camera module. It is a safer, more conventional layout, which will likely appeal to users who prefer a clean and predictable look.

The phone is expected to launch later this month, and its recent Geekbench appearance confirms the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. vivo is also bringing some premium features down to the S series this year, including second-generation 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition for faster, more reliable unlocking—even with wet hands.

Durability appears to be another major selling point. The entire lineup will ship with IP69 + IP68 water-resistance, a combination rarely seen at this price tier and a notable upgrade over previous generations.

Photography remains a central focus. vivo is equipping the full series with a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens and the same portrait engine used in its flagship models. The company is positioning the S50 family as a telephoto-centric device for users who rely heavily on zoom and portrait shooting in everyday use.
vivo has not shared the official launch date yet, but more details should surface in the coming days.
