Liger X Electric Scooter: Liger Mobility, the Mumbai-based EV startup, is gearing up to disrupt the two-wheeler market with its revolutionary Liger X electric scooter, touted as India’s first self-balancing electric scooter. This segment-first technology is aimed at improving safety, especially for beginners and elderly riders, while also enhancing comfort in city riding conditions.
The self-balancing feature, developed in-house, works automatically when the scooter is at low speeds or stationary, offering unmatched stability in traffic or during parking. It disengages at higher speeds to ensure a natural riding experience. Riders can also enable or disable the feature via the Liger app, which adds convenience and personalization to the user experience.
Powering the Liger X is an electric motor that delivers a top speed of 65 km/h, while offering a real-world range of around 60 km in the base variant and up to 100 km in the Liger X+ variant. Charging is efficient too—while the Liger X gets a removable battery, the X+ features an integrated pack with fast charging capabilities. Features like reverse mode, learner mode, and turn-by-turn navigation further enhance practicality.
In terms of styling, the Liger X draws cues from retro scooters but is wrapped in a modern, clean design. LED headlamps, a wide floorboard, and app-based vehicle controls ensure it stands out. Liger has also revealed that production will happen at its Pune facility, and the scooter will initially be launched in select cities before expanding nationwide.
The expected starting price is ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), with the X+ variant touching ₹1.90 lakh. While that might sound steep, the unique tech and features justify the premium.
Liger X is certainly one of the most innovative e-scooters coming to the Indian market, and all eyes are now on its official launch in late 2025.
