Now it will be interesting to see how Vivo responds to the Honor Magic V5, as it is a direct competitor. Interestingly, this time the device is expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which will deliver even more powerful performance. However, achieving such high performance in a slim and lightweight body may pose greater challenges for the heat dissipation layout.
Moreover, if its battery capacity can exceed 6000mAh, compared to the previous generation’s 5150mAh, it would significantly improve battery life. The company has officially confirmed that the Honor Magic V5 will launch in China on July 2 at 7:00 PM.

From the name itself, it’s not hard to guess that the main focus of this launch event will be Honor’s new folding screen phone, the Magic V5. Along with the tagline “Break the limits of imagination with power,” it also appears that Honor will continue to focus on AI.

The Honor Magic V3, released last year in July, had already achieved remarkable thinness and lightness. Now, expectations are high that the Honor Magic V5 will take it a step further, possibly bringing the thickness down to around 9mm or even 8.xx mm, with a weight of approximately 220 grams. When compared to the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5, it will be fascinating to see which device turns out to be thinner and lighter. This face-off could set a new benchmark for slimness and lightness in foldable screen smartphones.
