Huawei has officially launched its Mate 80 series in China, which includes the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and the Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design. Both the Pro Max and Ultimate Design models feature dual telephoto cameras and 6,000mAh batteries, offering flagship-level performance and design.
The Mate 80 Pro Max closely resembles the Mate 80 Pro in design but upgrades the experience with a larger display, a more powerful chipset, a quad-rear camera setup, and a bigger battery. It comes with a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED LTPO display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 8,000-nit peak brightness. Under the hood, it is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The device runs HarmonyOS 6, which introduces several UI improvements and AI-based features.

The Pro Max also features Huawei’s 2nd generation Red Maple imaging chipset, enhancing overall photography capabilities.
Other notable features include IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, satellite communication support, NFC, USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, stereo speakers, and an infrared sensor. The device measures 8.25mm in thickness, weighs 239g, and is available in Aurora Blue, Polar Day Gold, Polar Region Silver, and Polar Night Black.
The Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design, as the name suggests, focuses on a unique design with a redesigned rear camera module and back panel while retaining most of the Pro Max’s specifications. It is equipped with 20GB of RAM as standard and features a titanium mid-frame along with 3rd generation basalt tempered Kunlun glass on the display. The Ultimate Design measures 8.25mm thick and weighs 249g, available in Hibiscus Purple, Jet Black, and Pure White colors.
