After months of speculation, Huawei has finally made a powerful return to the flagship smartphone scene—this time with cutting-edge camera tech and its own in-house chipset. Launched on June 11, 2025, in China, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro is part of the new Pura 80 series lineup, which includes four models ranging from the base variant to the top-tier Ultra. This lineup is tailor-made for users who value high-performance photography, seamless software experience, and brand reliability.

At the heart of the Pura 80 Pro’s appeal is its XMAGE-powered camera system. Huawei is equipping the phone with a 50MP 1-inch SmartSens primary sensor with an RYYB lens, built to deliver exceptional low-light photography. That’s backed by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and a 40MP ultrawide sensor—creating a setup that comes remarkably close to a professional camera rig. The inclusion of HDR and AI-driven image processing further refines every shot, turning this phone into a serious imaging tool.
On the display front, Huawei has gone all-in with a 6.78-inch curved LTPO OLED panel, offering 1.5K resolution and 8T LTPO tech. This combination delivers buttery-smooth visual transitions while maintaining power efficiency. Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9020 5G chipset—an upgraded version of the 9010—which promises improved thermal management and snappier performance.

The Pura 80 Pro runs HarmonyOS 5.0, marking not just a software refresh but a major platform evolution. With deeper ecosystem integration, improved UI fluidity, and enhanced multi-device connectivity, Huawei is aiming to position HarmonyOS not merely as an Android alternative, but as a next-gen operating system in its own right.

In terms of storage, the phone comes in three variants: 12GB+256GB (¥6499), 12GB+512GB (¥6999), and 12GB+1TB (¥7999). It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, AI-enabled features, and improved battery life paired with fast charging. For now, availability is limited to China, with no official word yet on a global release.
