Huawei is once again preparing to make waves in the world of technology. According to reports, the company may launch its new smartwatch series, the Huawei WATCH GT6, in September or October. What sets this upcoming release apart is a unique new technology called ‘Star Flash’, making it the first GT series smartwatch to offer such a feature. With Star Flash, users may no longer need to carry a physical car key—unlocking and locking the vehicle can be done directly from the watch, seamlessly and without interruptions.
The Star Flash technology in the WATCH GT6 is said to be 5 to 6 times more precise than conventional Bluetooth keys. When the user walks away from the car and enters the locking zone, the watch will automatically send a signal to lock the vehicle. This ensures both timely locking and improved security.
Another smart feature integrated into the watch is called ‘Phase Difference Ranging’, which measures the real-time distance between the user and the car. It can even detect whether the user is inside or outside the vehicle. Based on this input, the watch can intelligently trigger functions such as greeting, unlocking, or locking the car.
According to the well-known blogger Digital Chat Station, two models may be introduced under the WATCH GT6 series, codenamed Koansu and Atum. The Koansu variant is expected to come in colors like Gilded Gold, Flowing Purple, Saddle Brown, Floating White, and Phantom Black. Meanwhile, the Atum variant could be available in Glacier Grey, Amber Brown, Titanium Sky Silver, Wilderness Green, and Yadan Black.
The WATCH GT6 is likely to be launched in dial sizes ranging from 41mm to 46mm. It is expected that the smartwatch will debut alongside Huawei’s upcoming triple-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XTs. Notably, a report dated July 22 mentioned that China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved three new Huawei products—ATM-B19, ATM-B29, and KSU-B19—which are believed to be variants within the WATCH GT6 series.
For those looking to buy a smartwatch that not only tracks fitness but also offers smart car control features, the Huawei WATCH GT6 could prove to be a powerful and futuristic choice.
