iPhone Air 2 News: Apple fans are in for a surprise. According to the latest reports, the company has decided not to launch the iPhone Air 2 next year. As per information shared by Chinese bloggers, Apple has temporarily removed this ultra-thin model from its development roadmap.
Tech insiders suggest that Apple may now introduce the iPhone Air 2 in the first half of 2027, alongside the standard iPhone 18 lineup. Initially, the launch was planned for Fall 2026, but that schedule has now been postponed.
Poor Sales Behind the Delay
Sources reveal that the disappointing sales of the first iPhone Air are the main reason behind the delay of its successor. Apple has reportedly instructed engineers and suppliers to pause work on the project for now. However, the company has not made any official statement regarding the new timeline.
iPhone Air Drew Attention at Launch
For those who don’t remember, the iPhone Air was Apple’s thinnest smartphone ever, measuring just 5.6mm in thickness. Its sleek design grabbed headlines during launch, but low battery capacity, limited camera performance, and a hefty price tag of around ¥7,999 (≈ ₹95,000) hurt its market performance.
Industry analysts believe Apple’s existing Pro and standard iPhone lineups already serve the high-end segment effectively. That leaves little room for a model like the iPhone Air. With lower-than-expected demand, Apple is now re-evaluating its product lineup and market strategy to better align with user needs.
