MediaTek has set the stage for its most powerful mobile chipset yet with the upcoming Dimensity 9500, according to a recent leak from renowned tipster Digital Chat Station. The first benchmark results for the SoC have surfaced, pointing to a significant leap in both single-core and multi-core performance, positioning the chip to rival top-tier offerings like Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
The Dimensity 9500 is the first processor based on the X930 “super-core” architecture and follows a 1+3+4 CPU layout. At the heart of the chipset lies a Travis core clocked at 3.23GHz, accompanied by three Alto cores at 3.03GHz and four Gelas cores at 2.23GHz. This setup is engineered to handle demanding tasks such as 4K video editing and high-end gaming titles like BGMI without performance bottlenecks.
The design not only pushes the envelope in raw computing power but also maintains a fine balance between performance and power efficiency, thanks to its foundation on TSMC’s 3nm process node.
Upgraded GPU and Ray Tracing Support
For graphics, the Dimensity 9500 introduces the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU, an enhanced version of the Immortalis-G925. Although the reported GPU frequency is just 1MHz, likely due to early-stage engineering samples, MediaTek is expected to optimize it closer to launch. The GPU promises advanced ray tracing support, allowing more realistic lighting and shadows in gaming environments.
Benchmark Gains Over Dimensity 9400+
Initial testing suggests that the Dimensity 9500 delivers 20% higher single-core and 15% better multi-core performance compared to the Dimensity 9400+. These early scores point to significant real-world benefits: faster app launches, smoother multitasking, and reduced frame drops during gaming sessions.
Moreover, with the improved 5G modem, users can expect faster downloads and more stable network performance, particularly in regions with robust 5G infrastructure.
The Dimensity 9500 is expected to launch officially in September 2025. According to early reports, Vivo and OPPO will be among the first OEMs to adopt the chip in their premium models. Specifically, the Vivo X200 Ultra and OPPO Find X9 Pro are rumored to feature the SoC when they debut in December 2025.
With powerful internals, improved efficiency, and support for advanced gaming features, the Dimensity 9500 could prove to be MediaTek’s most competitive flagship chipset to date. Full performance figures are expected to be revealed by July 2025, as MediaTek finalizes development and optimization.
