Meizu is making a stylish return with its upcoming Meizu Note 16, recently teased by Xiao Bo, General Manager of Meizu China, on his official Weibo account. With its distinctive rear camera design and nod to Chinese heritage, the Note 16 is already sparking conversations even before its official launch date is confirmed.
A Design Inspired by Ancient Craftsmanship
At first glance, the rear camera module on the Meizu Note 16 may remind some of the Huawei Mate XT, particularly due to its large circular housing. However, Xiao Bo clarified that the resemblance is purely coincidental. In fact, the final design was chosen from dozens of internal prototypes, ultimately taking inspiration from a thousand-year-old Chinese architectural element the caisson ceiling, known for its intricate and symmetrical patterns. This cultural infusion gives the Note 16 a distinct identity rooted in tradition.

Bold Yet Minimalist Camera Layout
Despite the visually commanding camera module, the Meizu Note 16 features just two rear camera lenses, raising eyebrows about the need for such an oversized housing. The red and white color variants shown in early images highlight the contrast and elegance of this design direction. While some users find it daring and elegant, others are questioning the practicality of such a large module for a dual-lens setup.

Front and Frame: Balanced for Comfort
On the front, the Meizu Note 16 keeps things clean and modern with a flat display and a single punch-hole selfie camera. The device also features a right-angled mid-frame with rounded corners, aiming to balance sleekness with comfort in hand. This thoughtful design could appeal to users who prioritize both aesthetics and ergonomics.
Launch Date and Specs Still Under Wraps
While excitement builds, Meizu has yet to confirm the official launch date or reveal key specifications of the Note 16. Given the buzz surrounding the design alone, fans can likely expect more details in the coming weeks.
