Nothing is expected to officially launch the Nothing Phone (3) on July 1. What’s making waves, however, is the latest render leak, which reveals a dramatic change in the design language of the device—the iconic Glyph Light Bar is no longer present.
Shared by tipster Max Jambor on X (formerly Twitter), the new renders showcase a back design that moves away from the brand’s signature identity. The once-recognizable LED light matrix that made the previous Nothing phones instantly distinguishable is completely absent. Instead, the rear panel appears more subdued, with most internal components covered in a grey mask.

While it’s still unclear whether the phone will retain the transparent design seen in its predecessors, the images show a new horizontal central red square paired with a white turntable-like pattern, creating a contrasting aesthetic that departs from the usual.
According to Android Authority, the leaker’s claims appear reliable. If the final version of the Nothing Phone (3) indeed omits the Glyph Light Strip, it could signal a major strategic shift for Nothing—possibly aiming to appeal to a broader and more mainstream audience.
Previously, ITHome also reported that Nothing’s official account had hinted in a tweet about dropping the Glyph Light Bar in favor of a new lighting language design, adding further credibility to these design leaks.
As the launch date approaches, all eyes will be on whether Nothing truly departs from the bold, standout design that initially set its smartphones apart.
