Samsung is set to push the boundaries of technology with its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The latest information reveals that it will feature the new CoE OLED display panel, which so far has only been used in Samsung’s foldable phones.

CoE, or Color Filter on Encapsulation, is a display technology where the traditional polarizer layer is replaced with a color filter. The advantage of this approach is a thinner and lighter display, significantly improved screen brightness, and, most importantly, lower power consumption, meaning better battery life.

Samsung has also implemented a black PDL (Pixel Define Layer), which greatly reduces internal light reflection within the display, making colors appear deeper and more vivid.

With the addition of the CoE panel, the display of the Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t just be good, it will offer a more natural and clear visual experience. The phone is expected to be lighter and thinner, and its outdoor visibility will be significantly enhanced.

This time, the company has paired the CoE panel with a third-generation CoE+ anti-reflective coating, considered to be the most advanced anti-glare surface to date, even superior to the current Gorilla Glass Armor.

This will especially benefit users who often use their phones in bright sunlight, such as field workers, travelers, or photo-video content creators.

Current indications suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will launch globally in early 2026. In addition to the CoE display, the phone is also expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, large RAM options, and Samsung’s new AI-powered features.
