Samsung is gearing up to launch its next-gen foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip7, in July 2025. What’s interesting this time is the dual-chip approach: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 could debut in the US powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, North American markets, including the US, will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, while South Korea will get the new Exynos 2500, Samsung’s latest in-house processor.
US consumers will enjoy the raw power of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, a chip praised for handling intensive tasks like gaming and multitasking with ease.

Samsung’s MX (Mobile eXperience) division has been working hard to reduce dependence on Qualcomm, aiming to cut costs and push its own chip technology. But for now, it’s not ready to rely solely on Exynos for its premium foldables.
Samsung is taking no chances with the Galaxy Z Fold7, which will be launched alongside the Flip7. The Fold7 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip globally, ensuring uniform, high-end performance for all users.
For US customers, the Snapdragon-powered Flip7 is great news, promising uncompromising power and reliability. Meanwhile, South Korea’s Exynos-powered variant is being closely watched — its success could pave the way for Samsung’s upcoming 2nm Exynos 2600, which is currently in development. With a target yield rate of 50% by next year, this next-gen chip could power the Galaxy S26 series in 2026, marking a major leap toward Samsung’s goal of chip independence.
