Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable phone was launched on July 9 this year, and now reports suggest that the company is already working on its next-generation model the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. Early leaks reveal that this upcoming foldable will be “out of the box,” featuring a larger 5000mAh battery and the return of the S Pen stylus, which fans have been eagerly waiting for.
Currently, the buzz is around whether the Z Fold 8 will be thinner and more premium than the Fold 7. The device is expected to come in three color options Blue, White, and Grey. When unfolded, it could have a thickness of less than 4.0mm, and around 8.6mm when folded, with an estimated weight of about 200 grams. Under the hood, it may pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Extreme Edition chip, although Samsung hasn’t confirmed any official details yet.
Meanwhile, a deal site has reportedly shared some insider information about the device, claiming that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 may feature a battery larger than 5000mAh, which is a notable jump from the 4400mAh unit found in the Fold 7. The source also confirmed that Samsung has already begun active development on the new model.
According to early leak reports, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could be priced under ₹1,75,000 in India, slightly higher than its predecessor. As reported by IT Home, such a significant battery upgrade is quite rare in Samsung’s history. For reference, the Z Flip 7 only saw a modest increase from 4000mAh to 4300mAh, and the Galaxy S25 FE boosted its capacity from 4500mAh to 4900mAh. Hence, the final confirmed battery size for the Z Fold 8 still remains uncertain.
