Just a day after news broke that next-generation Android chipsets could cross 4 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, major information about MediaTek’s new chipset, the Dimensity 9500, has surfaced. Considered one of the top flagship SoCs for 2025, almost all of its technical specifications have been leaked.
The Dimensity 9500 is built on TSMC’s latest N3P process, promising better efficiency and stronger performance. For architecture, it features a full large-core layout: one “Travis” core, three “Alto” cores, and four “Gelas” cores. Both Travis and Alto belong to the Cortex-X9 super-large core family (with SME instruction set support), while Gelas cores are based on ARM’s new A7 series.
Compared to the previous Dimensity 9400 (which used Cortex-X4 cores), this new all-X9 setup shows MediaTek’s intent to make a major leap in performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities.
The Dimensity 9500 is equipped with a brand-new Immortalis-Drage GPU, featuring a next-generation microarchitecture. This promises lower power consumption and significantly improved real-time ray tracing performance — setting the stage for next-level mobile gaming and graphical experiences.
For AI tasks, the chipset introduces the new NPU 9.0 engine, offering up to 100 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of pre-computing power. This means users can expect advanced AI features in imaging, communication, and interaction.
The Dimensity 9500 supports quad-channel LPDDR5X RAM (up to 10667 Mbps speed) and a 4-lane UFS 4.1 storage interface. It also features 16MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system-level cache (SLC), boosting overall speed and multitasking performance in devices.
According to reports, MediaTek is likely to officially launch the Dimensity 9500 in September 2025. The first smartphones expected to use this chipset are the Vivo X300 series and OPPO Find X9 series, both aiming to set new standards in AI integration, photography, and overall flagship performance.
With the Dimensity 9500, MediaTek is not just looking to compete — it plans to lead the flagship smartphone market in 2025. Judging by the leaked specifications, MediaTek could very well reshape the premium smartphone landscape in the coming year.
