In a recent post shared on China’s popular digital platform “Digital Chat Station,” a user named Beijing Digital made a noteworthy revelation regarding smartphone brand Vivo. According to the post, Vivo has officially become the first domestic smartphone manufacturer to support the native Hongmeng (HarmonyOS) system. However, the details reveal a more nuanced picture.
The announcement highlights the launch of an official Vivo website app on the HarmonyOS app store. But contrary to assumptions, this doesn’t imply deep integration with the Hongmeng system itself. The app is simply a listing on the store, and its functionality remains separate from any native Hongmeng features.

Further clarification in the post emphasized that features like dynamic animations and system-level integration from HarmonyOS will not be available through this app. In fact, it was stated that the integration of HarmonyOS on the official Vivo website has no direct impact on Vivo users at the moment.
The post concluded by noting that Vivo’s own operating system, known as Origin OS (Orange OS), is already a highly capable platform, and there’s currently no need to adapt it to HarmonyOS.
While this move may hint at future collaborations or support for HarmonyOS, for now, it appears to be more of a symbolic gesture than a functional transition for Vivo smartphones.
