Leaks have started to surface regarding Motorola’s next mid-range smartphone – the Moto G Power (2026) – which is expected to be officially announced next year. Just months after the release of the Moto G Power (2025), details about its successor’s design and specs have begun to emerge.
Model Number XT2615-1 Hints at 2026 Launch for US Market
According to Android Headlines, the leaked model number XT2615-1 follows Motorola’s usual naming pattern. The first two digits indicate the production year (2026), the next two represent the Moto G series, and the last digit shows it’s intended for the U.S. market. For comparison, the current Moto G Power (2025) was released with the model number XT2515, confirming this new device is likely its direct successor.

Sleek Design with Pantone-Inspired Color
Leaked images suggest that Motorola’s collaboration with Pantone continues. The Moto G Power (2026) appears in a striking Pantone 431C “Straight Blue” color. The back panel seems to use a plastic material with a glossy, glass-like finish. While vegan leather isn’t shown in this version, it might be used in other color options, as seen with other recent Motorola models.
Dual-Camera Setup Likely to Stay
From the leaks, the camera design doesn’t look drastically different. Like its predecessor, the Moto G Power (2026) seems to feature a dual-camera setup — with what appears to be a third lens actually housing an ambient light sensor, not a camera.
The main camera is expected to remain at 50MP, likely paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, similar to the 2025 model. No major camera upgrades are expected this year.
Expected Specs: New Chip, Same Battery and RAM
Although full specifications haven’t been confirmed, it’s expected that Motorola will upgrade the chipset from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (used in the 2025 model) to the newer Dimensity 6400.
The Dimensity 6400, launched in February 2025, is built on a 6nm process, featuring:
- 2 Cortex-A76 cores (up to 2.5GHz)
- 6 Cortex-A55 cores (up to 2.0GHz)
Despite the processor upgrade, most other specs — such as the 5,000mAh battery and 8GB RAM — are likely to remain unchanged.
Launch Timeline and Availability
The Moto G Power (2025) was revealed shortly after CES in January 2025, so the 2026 model is expected to debut in early 2026 as well. However, with phone launches happening earlier each year, there’s a chance it could debut in late 2025, possibly in markets like India first.
Final Thoughts: A Minor Refresh, Not a Major Leap
This leak suggests the Moto G Power (2026) will continue Motorola’s strategy of offering affordable mid-range phones, but with only minor upgrades. Pricing is expected to stay around $300 USD (approx. ¥43,000).
That said, Motorola hasn’t released a Moto G Power model in Japan since the 2020 “G8,” and with no announcement for the 2025 model either, it’s possible the 2026 version won’t arrive in Japan at all.
Still, Motorola could release similar devices under a different name with nearly identical specs — so fans of the Moto G Power series shouldn’t lose hope.
